HAUNTED BY HIS EYES

The grip of the old mans stare was powerful
much stronger that the birdlike claw
he held outstretched
trembling in palsied flight
mothlike wings awkwardly beating the air near me
as I passed him in the corridor
late one night
his eyes have haunted me since
the watery blue ponds
unrippled reflection of saphire jewels
hidden inside the desert of his face
caressed by wrinkles of valleys
his gleaming sky gaze
those piercing stones sought me out
again and again
fastened fiercly to me by a fine gold chain
I was hypnotized, in his spell
his lids peeled open revealing to me
legends of his once vigorous life
I stood transfixed, time was nothing now
seasons changed, people were born, they lived, died
I saw everything as if I had been there
before the glacial paralysis, mothlike beating wings
palsied plea for flight
this, his life had become now
and I knew him, I knew him so well

those eyes, they haunt me still...

http://www.independentrncontractor.com Hello, Have You thought about Independent Nurse Contractor? I am an Independent RN Contractor and I have started up my own Business. I contract my nursing services out to mainly hospitals, but have also done contracts in rehab facilties,step-down tele units, icu, nicu, and currently long term acute care. My contracts are guaranteed 72/hr per week for 3 months at a time I have spent considerable time researching and collecting data to get my business up and running. I am now marketing a packet with all the needed contract, forms, term sheets, including all business aspects and issues related to finance, taxes, advertising and marketing, tips and strategies needed to get your own business started as an Independent Nurse Contractor. I have not had any problems securing my contracts, as most facilities are short staffed and welcome the additional help. The rates I charge are far less if the facility would contract with a per diem or travel nurse agency. Any registered nurse can start a business, including two-year graduates and diploma nurses. No advance degrees are necessary unless your business includes diagnosing and treating medical problems. State nurse practice acts do no prohibit a nurse from starting up their own business as an Independent Nurse Contractor. Independent nurse contractor is one who contracts with a healthcare facility for nursing services. A contractual agreement is drawn up between you and the institution. You will be able to negotiate your compensation, hours worked and length of time your services will be needed.
